Dr. Joachim Samano brings advanced training, surgical skill, and a calm, compassionate approach to Tilger Center for Dentistry. With experience treating medically complex patients and a strong background in anesthesia and oral surgery, Dr. Samano offers high-level care with a steady, patient-focused mindset. He is proud to serve the Webster and Greater Houston community with excellence, empathy, and a touch of humor — especially when he's talking Bluey with fellow parents!
Education & Training
Dr. Samano earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas, graduating Cum Laude. He then completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry, where he began to develop his interest in surgical and hospital-based care.
To expand his skills and clinical experience, he completed a General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. During this advanced training, he received hands-on instruction in:
- Oral surgery
- Anesthesia and sedation
- Emergency care
- Medically compromised patients
- Collaborative hospital-based treatment

Advanced Clinical Experience
After completing his residency, Dr. Samano served as Director of Dental Services at the Harris County Jail, where he was responsible for the care of approximately 12,000 inmates. This role deepened his experience in high-volume, high-complexity dental care — and strengthened his ability to treat each patient with respect and professionalism, regardless of their background.
He has since continued to refine his surgical skills, including advanced implant training in Cartagena, Colombia, and ongoing participation in clinical study groups. Dr. Samano is an active member of:

Outside the Office
When he’s not at the practice, Dr. Samano stays active with kickboxing, soccer, and reading. At home, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.
